I am an engineer by formal training, with special emphasis in electronics engineering. I received my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude from New Mexico State University in December 2000.
How engineering relates to my consultation offering - I'll let you determine the connection! I will volunteer the fact that I'm very technically minded and have taken plenty of math and science courses. I pay attention to detail, have an orientation around safety and think about optimal solutions to problems.
I worked at Raytheon, a major defense contractor, for 7 years. My career accelerated quickly in the company. I began in test engineering and eventually became a product engineer on a classified system. I worked on digital and analog/radio frequency designs. My designation assigned to me at the beginning of the 4th year of my career was an E-3 Multi-Disciplined Engineer.
The Viniyoga method I am studying and training in was developed in part by a structural engineer, T.K.V. Desikachar.
For Yoga-Related Formally Recognized Training & Yoga Alliance Designations, I have the following:
The clients I work with have a wide variety of challenging conditions. They use the techniques I share with them to help them manage their conditions so that they can enjoy their life.
Here are the conditions my clients have:
Most of my continuing education is self-motivated self-study. I have taken the following major e-courses:
I heavily utilize Yoga International as a resource. I've studied a countless number of classes and articles they've released on their platform. Some of the teachers I've been influenced by are: Gary Kraftsow, Christina Sell, Roger Cole, Doug Keller, Annie Adamson, Jeanne Hieleman, Jean Mazzei. Not on that platform, but someone else I respect and have been influenced by is Dr. Baxter Bell.
I also have invested in a significant number of books which I constantly refer for study. The photos show some of my personal library. I have more. I happily confess to nerding out over this information. My current favorites are:
I also receive IJYT (International Journal of Yoga Therapy) and Yoga Therapy Today publications. I am always interested reading about the clinical studies being done to show the efficacy of yoga techniques for pain management. I am very interested in partnering with a medical professional in clinical research and studies work.
I am requesting testimonies from current clients.
